BFA in Studio Art, Graphic Design emphasis
Minor in Marketing
Kingston University, Art study abroad program

I chose to attend Grand Valley State University because the campus is amazing and it has an outstanding, respected graphic design program. Grand Valley has provided me great opportunities including; sorority leadership, networking events, and studying abroad. When I was studying in London, my favorite place to visit was Scotland because it was so peaceful, lush and green. Studying abroad also gave me an appreciation for different cultures and taught me how to visually engage and design for a vast array of cultures.

Learning is something that also gives me great pleasure. I enjoy watching Ted Talks and reading books because I want to better understand the world and things that interest me. I strongly value personal interactions and making connections with others. In my free time, I prioritize spending time with friends and family, volunteering, and working on personal projects.

Legacy

About the Project
My goal for this project was to create an innovative brand that uses technology to
advance the world. Throughout this project, I strived to create user-friendly designs and to develop my user interface design skills. I also aimed to expand my current graphic design skills by designing illustrations and animations for this project. This was the origin story of Legacy.

Legacy is a software development company that specializes in intellect embodiment software. They produce innovative ideas that will shape the way we engage with technology in the future. Their current product on the market is  myBrain. This device allows living people to connect and communicate with a coded version of their loved ones after they pass away. The goal of this product is to allow people to mourn their loved ones in a new way.

The main wish from people who are suffering from losing a loved one is to be able to talk with their loved one again. Legacy fulfills this wish through myBrain. The designs for Legacy incorporate simple, modern aesthetics with fun visuals. These designs also needed to reflect a trustworthy brand. Legacy wants to make your life easier so consider how Legacy could change your life using advanced technology.

This project allowed me to explore many fun, innovative ideas about the future of
technology. When creating Legacy’s brand, I wanted it to feel, both,
corporate and fun. The simplicity and use of white space in the designs gives the
brand a modern and trustworthy look. The choice of color and the use of illustration allows the brand to also have fun elements.
