BFA in Studio Art, Graphic Design emphasis

I enjoy employing a variety of different design techniques including mostly UI / UX design, and a small amount of 3D design. I would say one of  my best characteristics would be my drive to find new ways to design things, and while this may make it hard to start new projects, the end product will surely be something that I couldn’t have expected from the start. Working with design in a way that can allow me to adapt with a design is what I truly strive for. Hopefully the subsequent designs on this website will display this skill.

Calamity

About the Project
Calamity is a card game that rewards players for careful planning. This is done in order to emphasize timing and the tactical advantages of having a fast-but-weak card versus a slow-but-strong card. Additionally, the removal of turns creates the need for the cards themselves to have a speed parameter. The impetus for this game’s creation is based upon the desire to shift the direction that modern card games are focusing on, while simultaneously maintaining the qualities that made them special in the first place. This may include but is not limited by; collectible card game aesthetics from the late 1990’s, modern advancements in mechanical accessibility for game creation, as well as the nuanced integration of card scarcity, percentages, and economics.
