Ellie Burel
BFA in Studio Art, Graphic Design emphasisIn all aspects of life I am observant, self-aware, and sincere, and I pride myself on being extremely diligent and detail-oriented. I want to be known for the deep creative thinking I pour into everything, because it’s a core part of who I am. In my design work, I take a careful and simple approach, keeping the audience in mind at all times. I enjoy all elements of design, and I thrive in a diverse creative environment.
Along with Graphic Design, I also deliberately studied Ceramics. Through that I’ve found a profound love for making various wheel-thrown forms and a slew of other things. I fully believe that creating in different disciplines helps my design-brain solve problems in multifaceted ways. Design gives me a focus within my creativity where I can rely on my analytical side, but ceramics forces me to rely solely on my body and my intuition to create something.

About the Project
As humans, we have a natural inclination to enhance our quality of life, a trait that often manifests through consumerism. However, rapidly changing trends have caused consumers to be trapped in a cycle of desire and disappointment, experiencing the fleeting embraces of poorly designed objects in our modern world. There is a need now, more than ever, for well-designed, timeless objects. People long to create meaningful relationships with the things they own: mementos to be loved forever.
Rubble is a ceramic shop & consultancy specializing in tiles and wheel-thrown objects. Inspired by Dieter Rams’ philosophy of ‘less, but better,’ Rubble will work with you to craft objects that are perfect for your life and your home. Rubble reinvents the intentionality of consumerism. By focusing on the craft and the emotional durability of hand-made ceramics, Rubble ensures that you walk away with a product that satisfies you for years to come.
